These Principles describe the values that guide the design and operation of the SMEme platform. In the event of a conflict, the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy govern.
We believe expertise is a form of intellectual property—and that the SMEme platform should protect it.
Our mission is to help professionals operationalize, scale, and automate their expertise without surrendering ownership or control of it. These principles guide how we design, operate, and govern the platform. They reflect the broader Guiding Principles of Arista Labs, LLC, which operates SMEme.
1. You Own Your Expertise
Your professional knowledge, methodologies, judgment, decision processes, and know-how remain yours. Using the SMEme platform does not transfer ownership of your expertise to us.
2. You Own Your Workflows
Workflows, decision structures, rules, and other Expert Assets you create belong to you. We provide the platform. You retain ownership of what you build with it.
3. You Own Your Outputs
Conclusions, determinations, reports, recommendations, and other Generated Outputs produced from your workflows belong to you, subject to applicable law and third-party rights. We do not claim ownership of the results produced from your expertise.
4. Your Expertise Is Not Training Data
We do not use your Expert Assets, workflows, or Generated Outputs to train or fine-tune any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model. Your expertise remains yours.
5. You Control Access
You decide who can access your expertise. You determine whether workflows remain private, are shared within your organization, or are made available to others through products and services you control.
6. You Can Export Your Assets
Expertise should not be trapped inside a platform. We are committed to providing practical mechanisms for exporting workflows and related assets using available platform functionality.
7. You Can Delete Your Assets
You may remove your Expert Assets from the Service. Subject to backup retention schedules, legal obligations, and operational requirements, we will remove those assets from active systems within a commercially reasonable period.
8. AI Should Expand Human Agency
We believe the purpose of AI is to extend human capability, not eliminate human judgment. AI should help experts apply their expertise more effectively, more consistently, and at greater scale.
9. Expertise Deserves Transparency
When expertise influences important decisions, people should be able to understand where that expertise came from and how it was applied. We believe expertise should become more accessible, auditable, and operational—not less.
10. Human Judgment Remains Central
The SMEme platform exists to help experts put their expertise to work. The goal is not to replace expertise. The goal is to make expertise more available, more scalable, and more useful while keeping control in the hands of those who created it.
Your expertise belongs to you. Our job is to help you put it to work.
