Plans & usage

This page answers how SMEme Free and Pro quotas work: monthly caps on decision trees, MCP tool calls, and AI-assisted wizard builds, when limits reset, and what happens when you hit a cap. Free resets on your account anniversary (signup date). Pro resets on your Stripe billing date each month.

What counts

Active decision tree
A non-deleted root decision tree you own. Deleting a decision tree frees a slot immediately. (Archive is a separate feature — availability depends on your deployment.)
MCP tool call
Weighted sum of successful MCP reasoning tool invocations this UTC month. Evidence validation and a standard evaluate each count as 1 (a typical MCP run uses both). Scenario comparisons (what_if) count as 2; repair plans (how_to_reach) count as 2.5. Listing decision trees, fetching the outcome catalog, and downloading worksheets count as 0.
AI-assisted wizard build
One full AI-assisted creation run (research through Deploy-ready output) per distinct generation ID per month. Retries on the same in-progress generation do not consume extra credits.

Upgrade & manage billing

Free users can upgrade from the dashboard or profile via Stripe Checkout ($49/mo Pro). Pro subscribers manage payment method and cancellation in the Stripe Customer Portal from profile. Portal cancellation keeps Pro through the end of the current paid period. Deleting your SMEme account is different: it cancels Pro immediately, forfeits any remaining prepaid time, and cannot be restored if you sign up again with the same email — see Delete your account.

When you hit a cap

  • Decision trees — you cannot create a new decision tree until you delete/archive one or upgrade.
  • AI builds — you cannot start a new AI-assisted wizard build when your monthly allowance is exhausted.
  • MCP — your agent receives a structured quota_exceeded error with remaining allowance and reset time.

After downgrade or cancellation, Free limits apply immediately — there is no grace period within the month. If you had more decision trees than the Free tier allows, the extras become dormant: they remain visible on your dashboard (grayed out) and can still be downloaded as JSON, but cannot be invoked through MCP until you either delete enough decision trees to get back under the limit or upgrade again.
